When we start asking ourselves questions before we buy something then we are doing what I call “conscious shopping”. This helps control the mindless shopping that leads to clutter. This system has helped me stay organized even if I don’t have time to send out all the cards. The way it is set up helps prioritize which people are the most important on my list. Since both religions are in my family and friends even if I don’t write a personal note at least the card itself shows a little personalization.

I pretend that I don’t actually own anything in my home, but I can buy whatever I’d like. What would I actually want in my house? How many tiny bottles of hand lotion do I really want?

It can definitely be a challenge to get all the greeting cards out the door on time. Especially when you like to send a handwritten note, like me. I like how you are sending out cards for each person’s religion. Great system and thanks for sharing!

A great tip. I never really thought of doing this before. I can see where it will help us to keep from over buying or even keep from adding more clutter to the house.

Sandy, I think part of the reason we are more organized at the office is because we are aware others will judge us on our organizational skills or lack of them. At home we don’t feel the same scrutiny by our families. That is also the reason it may be harder to get cooperation from those same family members!

I find I am more organized at the office because it am just organizing myself. At home I am trying to organize for 3 other people and it is a little bit harder to gain their cooperation.
